Classically trained and World experienced, Nneka Lyn does not limit herself to her sheet music. She actively plays and performs Rock, Pop, Hip-Hop, and Soul on both electric and acoustic Cello. Unlike most cellists, Nneka sings while playing, making her in demand as a backing vocalist and cellist for many live acts.
Since primary school, Nneka Lyn has been studying piano and cello. She has been writing and performing from a young age in local acts, festivals, and churches all along the East Coast. In college, she pursued Music Education studies at the University of Maryland, College Park, but left to pursue her music career as demand for her talents increased.
Her work ranges from tours with national and international acts such as Starset and Breaking Benjamin, to arranging and recording with buzz-worthy regional acts like Cloud 9, Cecily, and Aaron ?Ab? Abernathy.
Nneka’s latest endeavor is Apt. 204, a vibrant and live genre-bending Hip-Hop band with influences from modern Classical, to roots reggae.
